Understanding European Cultural DiversityA two-day workshop that examines Europe from a historical perspective. Delegates will learn about the movements of the European peoples and will understand how migration, religion and geography have shaped the different cultural regions of Europe. Delegates will also examine the classic works of Geert Hofstede and others, to provide an academic insight into the ‘cultural yardsticks’ by which the main dimensions of a culture can be measured. They will practice identifying characteristics of different cultures and using these to score a 'cultural posture' using a framework of the major cultural yardsticks. At the end of the workshop they will understand that this knowledge can be used to help them change the way they prepare and adapt to business relationships with individuals and organisation of other cultures.
