EIIL Learning
A flexible programme of workshops specifically designed by engineers for individuals who posess the capability, drive and ambition to become future leaders in European industry. Mandated as a result of research amongst its founding members to provide a training and development capability for their mid-career, high potential technical professionals, the EIIL's workshop programme was the initial raison d'etre of the Institute. Designed with contributions from experienced leaders in industry to provide a unique learning experience , the Workshops improve the business leadership qualities of engineers, scientists and technologists by providing targeted business education and training. The purpose of the programme is to help companies committed to developing, and thereby retaining, their best talent. High Performance Leadership: develop the necessary personal and inter-personal skills required to lead and influence individual and organisational performance. Leading in the Multi-cultural Environment: understand the principles and practices needed to lead international business operations and explore effective ways of handling multi-cultural negotiations, decision-making and cross-cultural projects. Leading Profitable Growth: discover how to source and utilise the resources and competencies needed to successfully develop business. Understand when to invest in growth; the various sources of available finance; and investors' views on risk and reward. Leading for the Long Term: a series of Round Table discussions aimed at the more senior manager faced with the challenges of the increasing importance of sustainability and ethical corporate governance in business development. Understand the roles of a leader in ensuring sustainable investment, business and stakeholder value. Theory and Philosophy of Leadership: understand the processes, situations and systems of leadership; develop a wider grasp of the world's changing industrial economy; and fully appreciate the roles of leaders in creating a sustainable future for organisations. Programme Schedule - A Flexible Learning Approach Each of the workshops in the EIIL Learning programme is designed to stand-alone. The programme schedule allows future leaders to attend a selection of workshops during any year as their career and personal development needs dictate. The EIIL can further support Corporate Members in identying combinations of workshops to best address the learning objectives of individuals in their top talent team. |
