EIIL Research

A wealth of knowledge and experience from engineers and industrialists, scientists, technologists and academics, all concerned with the competitiveness and sustainable development of European manufacturing and technology-led industry.

Since its initial research amongst industry leaders, prompting the development of the EIIL Learning programme, the EIIL has continued, through its succession of annual Leaders of Industry surveys, to access the views of its Members, Workshop Participants, Alumni and Partner organisations on education and development requirements in industry. These annual surveys have evolved alongside members’ interests to focus on the (engineering) skills shortage facing industry, and activities affecting the ‘supply chain’ for engineers. The purpose of the EIIL’s research activities is to help our members to identify, share and implement good practices in their attraction, recruitment, development and retention of engineers.

Good Practice Studies: workshops bringing together members and partner organisations to share experiences and successful practices.

Conferences and Events: details of conferences, presentations, seminars, round-table discussions and other events associated with the EIIL's Research Surveys and Projects.

Surveys: results of the EIIL’s annual survey of leading industrialists throughout Europe.

Publications: this section of the web-site will provide a resource centre of reports, factfiles and briefings on topics relating to engineering education the attraction, recruitment, development and retention of engineers and technical professionals.
